La guerre de l'été 2006 au Liban a donné lieu à des flots de commentaires et d'analyses « à chaud », trop souvent marqués par les raccourcis et les simplifications. C'est pourquoi des chercheurs et des spécialistes du Liban et du Moyen-Orient, français et libanais en majorité, ont joint leurs efforts pour rendre compte dans ce livre de la crise multidimensionnelle de l'été 2006, en se fondant sur leur expertise, sur leur familiarité avec le terrain et, pour nombre d'entre eux, sur leur observation directe de la scène libanaise durant ces semaines de guerre.
